Graduate Programs

CEMI Bible College and Seminary offers a Master of Theology degree and a Doctor of Ministry degree program for pastors and Christian workers who want to pursue a more in-depth study of the Bible and Theology.

The Master of Theology degree is a 36 hour program that includes:

Three courses selected from the general catalog, as determined by a review of the student’s transcripts (12 hours)

Five research courses in the following areas (20 hours):

  • Old Testament book study or topic
  • New Testament book study or topic Theology or Bible doctrine topic
  • General Ministry/History topic
  • Apologetics
  • Christian Ministry Practicum (4 hours)

Prerequisite: Applicants for the Master’s program must have a Bachelor’s degree preferably in Biblical Studies or Theology.

The Masters of Theology Program is a 36 credit-hour program designed for those who are involved in ministry or would like to become more actively involved. Students will have a solid foundation in the following areas before completing this program:

  • A solid foundation in systematic theology
  • A firm understanding in interpretation of scripture
  • Knowledge in their area of specialty
  • Understand Christology as the main emphasis throughout scripture.
  • Understand evangelism and evangelistic strategies as the primary goal of ministry.

 

The Doctor of Ministry degree is a 36 hour program that includes:

D.Min. Specialization (one of the following):

  • Expository and evangelistic preaching or teaching
  • Pastoral leadership
  • Spiritual Counseling
  • Mission Specialist
  • Thesis: an 8 credit hour thesis
  • Christian Ministry Practicum (12 hours)

Prerequisite: Applicants for the Doctor of Ministry program must have a Masters Degree preferably in Biblical Studies or Theology.

Much of the Master program and Doctorate program is research based. Students will read assigned texts and, along with conducting in-depth research of the Scriptures and other supporting material, will develop a course curriculum that includes lectures, study guides and question and answers. Students will demonstrate the skills and aptitude to conduct extensive academic research and independent studies.

This program had a five fold purpose:

  • To provide the student with an understanding of systematic theology
  • Students will have a command in the biblical method of interpreting scripture
  • As the students matriculate through the D.Min. program, they will appreciate leading with a servants heart.
  • Students will understand evangelism as the primary purpose of Christian Ministry
  • Students will develop their area of specialty as it pertains to practical involvement in ministry
